The first tip i believe in and one of the best tips i received was to just write. You can always go back and change, add or delete the things you don't like or want. Getting it out of you is the most important thing.
Another tip is to have fun and be creative. The creative process is yours. Don't think about what others are going to like or don't like. Writing is an art, and a self expression. Not everyone is going to like what you put out. Don't think about that, just be creative.
Imagination is everything. In your mind you have your own Hollywood. In Hollywood they make magic happen with the movies they produce. You are the director. When you write you tell the characters in your book exactly what to do. You set the scene and give people a visual. A good writer will have people seeing what the words are saying. That's your chance to make magic happen.
Probably the most important tip is to go to where you want your reader to go. If you can't see it, feel it, taste it, touch it, hear it, or smell it, how could you expect you readers to when you are describing it. Even if it's something make believe your imagination has to take you there before it'll allow you to take someone else there.
Lastly, if you go a whole day and only get two sentences, that's still progress. It be like that. Some days you might get fifteen pages. It's a process. For some authors it take a year, and for some it take years. The key is to keep going.
